What about Windows Vista?

Microsoft released a new operating system, Windows Vista, in January 2007.
NOAH System 3.6 is supported on nearly all 32-bit versions of Vista (see our minimum requirements list), and HIMSA will begin certifying NOAH 3 modules on Microsoft Vista Business and Vista Home Basic in the near future. However, we highly recommend that you continue to use either Windows 2000 or Windows XP Professional for your NOAH PCs until all your NOAH 3 modules have been officially certified on Windows Vista. This is the only way to ensure that your NOAH 3 installation will continue functioning properly.
If you choose to run NOAH on Windows Vista, we suggest that you use Windows Vista Business. In addition, please keep in mind that some NOAH 3 modules may not be compatible with Windows Vista. Before choosing Windows Vista for your NOAH PC, please check with each manufacturer to ensure that all of the NOAH 3 fitting and measurement modules you require are Vista compatible.

What about 64-bit operating systems?

Why not Windows XP Home or Windows Media Center?
IMPORTANT: If a sales representative tells you that Windows Media Center or XP Home will work with NOAH System, do NOT believe it.
While these operating systems are very appropriate for the majority of home users, business owners should be running Windows XP Professional (32-bit version) in order to take advantage of its enhanced network, security and stability features. Since your hearing care practice is a business, it is logical to have an operating system designed for that purpose.
HIMSA has decided to certify and test using the Windows XP Professional version. Since all certification and functionality statements for NOAH 3, as well as fitting and measurement modules, will be made for Windows XP Professional, it is in your best interest to use XP Professional on your NOAH System 3 computer.
What about Windows 98/Me?
IMPORTANT:
NOAH System version 3.5.2, Server version, will not install on a PC with a Microsoft Windows 98/Me operating system.
NOAH System 3.6, to be released early 2007, will not support Windows 98 or ME.
NOAH System 3.5.2 client and non-network versions are compatible with Windows 98 (SE) and Windows ME. However, these operating systems are meant for home use, and may result in poorer performance and errors during NOAH System operation.

What about Windows NT?

Windows NT is a very old operating system that is no longer supported by either Microsoft or by HIMSA. Tests have shown that NOAH System 3.1.2 and later cannot successfully install on Windows NT.
If you currently have Windows NT on your NOAH computer, it is important that you upgrade your operating system to a newer Windows version in order to ensure compatibility with future updates to NOAH System and to NOAH 3 fitting and measurement software modules.
